A new Crewe town centre pie and breakfast business has enjoyed a 'crazy busy' start - adding two more 'really good' food items to its menu.

Mel's Kitchen officially opened in Crewe Market Hall on Tuesday 21 February - gaining positive feedback from customers ever since.

"Business has been really good since we've opened. This week has been a bit quieter because of the weather but the breakfasts are really popular, said joint owner, Melanie Southern.

Mel's Kitchen replaced former Mexican Eatery Mexicano De jimmy - which closed down in December (Ryan Parker).

Mel's Kitchen is operated by joint-owners Melanie and Paul Southern - with support from their two daughters.

Mel's Kitchen serves pie, mash and gravy from 12:30pm Wednesday to Sunday. Monday and Tuesday, it runs a breakfast-only menu from 8:30am to 2:00pm.

Mrs Southern told Nub News: "Trade on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are crazy busy.

"We are just building the rest of the week up. All days run smoothly but it's just about improving it further.

Mel's Kitchen is operated by joint-owners Melanie and Paul Southern - with support from their two daughters (Ryan Parker).

"At the minute, Mondays and Tuesdays we are sticking to just serving breakfasts.

"The rest of the week it is the full menu. Pies are served Wednesday to Sunday."

Mel's Kitchen has received all positive feedback since opening in Crewe Market Hall.

As part of British Pie Week (March 6 to 12), Mel's Kitchen has launched two new items - Cheese & Onion Pie and Meat & Potato Pie.

Mrs Southern said: "The pies are a massive hit. We haven't had any negative feedback on them at all.

"Everyone has said they have really enjoyed them - that's all we can ask for really.

"The new pies are really good. Cheese & Onion has been ordered loads already.

"Not everyone realises we are open on Mondays and Tuesdays as most of the market operates Wednesday to Sunday.

"We need to build up them two days up more but overall the business is a big success."

Mel's Kitchen serves a Full English, Small English, Pancakes with Streaky Bacon & Maple Syrup and sausage and bacon baps.

Mel's Kitchen has been 'crazy busy' and received all positive feedback since opening in Crewe Market Hall (Ryan Parker).

The traditional food stall also serves a variety of fresh baguettes, baked potatoes and children's options.

Mel's Kitchen is open 8:30am to 2pm (Monday and Tuesday), 8:30am to 6pm (Wednesday), 8:30am to 9pm (Thursday), 8:30am to 11pm (Friday), 8:30am to 11pm (Saturday) and 10:30am to 7pm (Sunday).
