New 'traditional' pie and mash eatery launches in Crewe town centre

A new 'traditional' pie and mash eatery has opened in a Crewe town centre venue - following weeks of excitement from local residents.
Mel's Kitchen officially opened inside Crewe Market Hall on Tuesday 21 February at 8:30am.
The new British eatery has replaced former Mexican stall, Mexicano De Jimmy, which closed down in December - due to personal reasons.
Mel's Kitchen is run by joint-owners Melanie and Paul Southern.
The new 'traditional' food stall is serving a wide selection of breakfast items with hot and cold drinks.
Mel's Kitchens main selling point is its freshly-baked pies - served with mashed potato and gravy.
Its pie menu includes: Steak, Kidney & Craft Ale Pie, Steak & Craft Ale Pie, Chicken, Ham, Leek & Thyme Pie, Chicken, Portobello & Chestnut Mushroom Pie and Portobello & Chestnut Mushroom Pie.
Mel's Kitchen is serving a Full English, Small English, Pancakes with Streaky Bacon & Maple Syrup, sausage and bacon baps - as well as children's breakfast dishes.
The new eatery also serves a Soup of The Day with a fresh roll, a variety of fresh baguettes and baked potatoes with a variety of fillings.
Mel's Kitchen is a family-run business supported by Mr and Mrs Southern's two daughters.
Mr and Mrs Southern believe Crewe Market Hall is the 'best thing' to happen to the town in a long time.
The joint-owners are especially impressed with how safe the Earle Street venue is and believed it was a great venue to open in.
Mrs Southern told Nub News: "Crewe Market Hall has a wide variety of food stalls. We believe there is a good opportunity to offer traditional British food.
"We have come in here every weekend and its always busy. This venue is also very safe for children.
"Crewe town centre is in a shocking state at the moment but Crewe Market Hall has been a huge success.
"This venue has got to inspire people Crewe town centre can work with good ideas - we want to add to that."
Mel's Kitchen is open 8:30am to 2pm (Monday and Tuesday), 8:30am to 6pm (Wednesday), 8:30am to 9pm (Thursday), 8:30am to 11pm (Friday), 8:30am to 11pm (Saturday) and 10:30am to 7pm (Sunday).
