Mideva Holdings wants to build six one-bed apartments on land to the south of The Bath House, off Mirion Street.

A design and access statement submitted by Bower Edleston on behalf of the applicant, says the homes would be 'one-bedroom, one-person apartments'.

Mideva Holdings wants to build six one-bed apartments on land to the south of The Bath House, off Mirion Street (Ryan Parker).

The site, which is in a largely residential area, is currently vacant but used as a car park.

The planning document reads: "The application would be a logical site for development, effectively completing the established built form in this locality.

"The proposal will make available much-needed accommodation in the town centre for single people with close access to all amenities.

"It is envisaged that the properties will be available for the rental sector."

The document says a 1986 Ordnance Survey map shows there were four homes on the site which have since been bulldozed.

It continues: "The proposed development is to be positioned almost exactly where the demolished dwellings were, covering almost the exact same area."

The scheme includes a car parking space for each apartment plus an additional two parking spaces for visitors and six cycle storage places.

At the time of writing, one Crewe resident has objected to the proposal saying while he can support the principle of homes on the site 'this scheme has too many issues including undersized units, lack of amenity space, access arrangements and impacts to existing businesses, through their servicing arrangements'.

The last date for submitting comments is Wednesday 4 September, with the application due to be determined by a planning officer under delegated authority.
