A male pedestrian has suffered an injury to his leg, after being hit by a car on a busy road in Crewe.

On Saturday 18 January, emergency services recieved reports of an incident on Oak Street.

Around 5.45pm, officers arrived at the scene, disovering a male pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle.

Police cordoned off a section of Oak Street and Mill Street (by the bridge) while dealing with the incident (Nub News).

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with an injury to his leg.

According to social media reports, the pedestrian had stolen items from nearby Farmfoods and got hit after fleeing the scene.

Cheshire Police say they cannot comment on this speculation "at this time."

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At around 5.45pm on Saturday 18 January, police were called to reports of a collision on Oak Street.

The male pedestrian was taken to hospital with an injury to his leg (Cheshire Police).

"The collision involved a pedestrian and a car. 

"The pedestrian was taken to hospital with an injury to his leg."
