A man has been arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis plants, after Cheshire Police uncovered a cannabis farm at a Crewe South address.

On Monday 20 January, officers carried out a drugs warrant on Goode Way, off Gresty Road, following information from the public.

Police arrested a 56-year-old man, with 100 cannabis plants and growing equipment seized.

The Crewe property was secured, with enquiries ongoing.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "Crewe Beat Team carried out a drugs warrant on Monday 20 January at an address on Goode Way.

"A 56-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis plants.

"We removed 100 plants, believed to be cannabis, as well as growing equipment before securing the property.

"We hope this reassures you that we do listen, and we do act on information given to us by the public.

"Anyone who thinks illegal drug activity is taking place in their community can contact Cheshire Police via the website, or by calling 101."
