A major UK books and stationery retailer is set to shut down one of its two South Cheshire town centre stores, with all staff deployed to the other shop.

WhSmith will permanently close its store on 35 High Street, Nantwich, on Saturday 24 February.

All staff will move over to Nantwich's other WHSmith store, across the road at 52-54 High Street.

WHSmith has confirmed all of its stock from the closing store will move over into the current stationery store unit.

WHSmith closed down its Crewe town centre store, located within Victoria Shopping Centre, last March (Ryan Parker).

This news comes after WHSmith closed down its Crewe town centre store, located within Victoria Shopping Centre, last March.

A WHSmith spokesperson told Nub News: "We can confirm that the WHSmith store at 35 High Street, Nantwich will be closing on Saturday 24 February.

"Colleagues will be redeployed to our store at 52-54 High Street and we look forward to continuing to welcome our customers there."
