Bentley Motors has responded to recent criticism from a worker, confirming it has come back with a new "fair" and "competitive" pay deal to its Crewe staff.
On February 21, Nub News reported a Bentley Motors worker in Crewe reached out to attack the Pyms Lane luxury car maker, calling them a "disgrace."
This came after the company offered a new pay deal to staff, with a reported 97 per cent rejection rate in a members' ballot.
Since then, Bentley has confirmed it is currently holding another members' pay ballot for a revised pay deal, with a deadline of Thursday 29 February.
The Crewe-based company believes it is "the very best" offer that can be reached, saying it includes new benefits like access to an online GP and dental care.
A Bentley Motors spokesperson told Nub News: "We do not recognise the majority of the comments you have reported.
"The previous pay deal indeed was rejected through a union ballet.
"But, through close collaboration with our union partners, we have now made an improved pay offer that we believe is fair, competitive and the very best that can be reached.
"This also includes enhancements, not reductions as suggested, to our industry-leading policies on sickness pay and policy.
"It also includes new benefits like access to an online GP and dental care, which have contributed to Bentley being recognised as a top employer for 13 years in a row.
"Furthermore, we are not moving permanent staff to accommodate outside contractors as suggested.
"Our ambition is always to protect and care for our core workforce.
"Colleagues are being briefed currently on the details of the pay offer.
"Of course, colleagues will have questions and we encourage them to speak to their line manager, trade union representative or local HR partner.
"We therefore look forward to a positive outcome at the end of the month."
