Known as 'Founder's Day', each year YMCAs across the world celebrate their roots, being founded in 1844 by George Williams and 11 of his friends, just a stone's throw from Westminster.
In recognition of those roots, and the continued work being done on the ground every day, Dr Mullan joined YMCA Crewe for Founders Day 2022.
The MP discussed the issues that really matter for young people and the community 178 years on.
Mark Hills, Chief Executive of YMCA Crewe said: "The unique thing about YMCA – and perhaps why we are the oldest and largest youth charity in existence - is that we adapt to what our local community needs.
"We provide support to ensure that everyone has a fair chance to discover who they are and what they can become.
"What better way to mark our Founder's Day, than by empowering young voices and embracing the support of our local MPs to make a real difference to our community, now and far in the future."
YMCA England & Wales is made up of 83 member YMCAs working to ensure young people have opportunities to thrive and contribute positively to their communities.
