Jurassic Park to invade Crewe venue for comic shop's 'Geeky Gala' family day

Crewe Market Hall will transform into a celebration of pop culture and community on Saturday 25 October, as Gumshoe Comics & Collectibles brings back its annual Geeky Gala and Halloween Family Fun Day.

Running from 10am to 4pm, the free-to-attend event promises a full day of activities, games, competitions, and cosplayers.

This year's theme adds a prehistoric twist, with a Jurassic Park appearance featuring the iconic jeep and roaming dinosaurs.

Owner of Gumshoe Comics & Collectibles, Peter Bruder, told Nub News: "We are thrilled to have been able to work alongside Crewe Market Hall and Discover Crewe with Crewe Spooktacular on Lyceum Square.

"We're so excited to bring the Geeky Gala back this year, it is always a highlight for us and for the local community.

"We have been providing a gaming hub and geek community for the last three years. We are incredibly proud of the community we have built, providing a welcoming, safe and inclusive space for hobbies.

"Events like this show just how much enthusiasm and creativity there is locally."

Gumshoe Comics & Collectibles, at the heart of Crewe's gaming and pop culture scene for the past three years, is also running a Pokéball Trail around Crewe in the lead-up to the event.

Families can pick up answer sheets from Gumshoe Comics in Crewe Market Hall or from Big Mugs on Edleston Road, then hunt down hidden Pokemon across the town.

Completed trails can be returned to Gumshoe Comics for free Pokémon cards and entry into a prize draw.

Local businesses taking part in the trail include Big Mugs Coffee Shop, Ice & Fire Studio, Waterstones, Polka Dot Travel, and Gumshoe Comics itself.

Working alongside Discover Crewe and Crewe Spooktacular on Lyceum Square, the Geeky Gala forms part of a wider celebration of the town's creative and community spirit.

Gumshoe Comics offers a safe, inclusive space for fans of Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer and other tabletop games.
