A Platinum Jubilee scarecrow trail took place in the villages of Haslington & Winterley - over the extended four-day bank holiday weekend.

The trail took place from Thursday (June 2) to Sunday (June 5) on the outskirts of Crewe.

Local residents and businesses produced dozens of scarecrows produced for the public to enjoy.

The scarecrows with either a Royal theme or signified an event over the past seventy years - since the start of Queen Elizabeth II's reign.

Numerous houses were also bedecked in red, white and blue bunting, balloons and flags.

The trail was organised by Haslington Support Group – a voluntary group, formed in mid-March 2020.

The volunteers help local people with shopping, collect prescriptions, offer transport for medical appointments and provide emergency food, and clothing where possible.
