GCSE Results Day 2025: Crewe Nub News is providing a feed of GCSE results from the town's schools as they come in.

The Oaks Academy - Buchan Grove

Over 65 per cent of pupils achieved good or strong passes in either English Language or English Literature (The Oaks Academy).

The Oaks Academy has secured the best GCSE results in the school's history.

The majority of pupils secured a standard pass or higher in both English and Maths.

Over 65 per cent of pupils achieved good or strong passes in either English Language or English Literature, demonstrating academic excellence.

While all pupils have done well, there have been some impressive individual performances. These include:

  • Eliza, Head Student, who successfully achieved higher grades across the board including 9 in languages.
  • Aiden, Jay and Julia who achieved 2 grades or more above their prior attainment at primary school.
  • Aicha-Rose, Alisia, Eliza, Ellis, Georgiana, Julia, Kiu, Otylia and Shelby have all achieved Grade 9s or equivalent.

Headteacher, Peter Kingdom, said 'I am proud of all our pupils for their personal achievements this academic year.

"I am thankful for the dedication of all colleagues who have gone above and beyond to support Year 11 with extra intervention and revision sessions.

"This is a continuation of the year-on-year improvements in all key results and confirms the transformation that the school has gone through over recent years."

Shavington Academy - Rope Lane

Pupils: Georgia B, Naomi D, Scarlett G, Amber H, Sam M, Harry P and Thomas A, secured grade 7 to 9 in at least eight GCSE subjects.

Isobel P also achieved grade 9 in all nine of her GCSEs, as well as a grade 9 in Further Maths.

Shavington Academy said: "Here at Shavington, GCSE results day is more than grades for our pupils, it is the start of the next phase of their journey into further education, training or employment and an opportunity for us to celebrate this with them.

"All of the staff at the Academy are immensely proud of every pupil and their own individual achievements.

"We wish all of the Class of 2025 the very best for their futures and look forward to hearing about their successes and achievements over the coming years."

Crewe Engineering & Design UTC - West Street

Crewe UTC's Chloe Warton and Marianne Hough celebrating their GCSE results (Crewe Engineering & Design UTC).

Students of Crewe Engineering & Design UTC have received top marks for their GCSE courses, in particular in their Engineering and Design specialisms.

These results have helped them secure a range of fantastic destinations in the UTC's own sixth form, other local providers and direct into industry apprenticeships.  

Marianne Hough and Tayla Wiseman are some of Crewe UTC's highest achievers will be moving on to complete the T-Level course at the facility this September.

Marianne has been an avid F1 In schools participant and recently achieved the prestigious Arkwright Award. She hopes to pursue a career as an engineer within F1/Motorsport sector. 

Tayla has secured top grades across a range of subjects. She has been part of a number of successful student led projects, including our Formula 1 in Schools team.

Ollie Brundrett's has secured a Level 3 Apprenticeship to Bentley, an ambition of his since Year 10.

His hard work and dedication in all aspects of his studies, especially in Crewe UTC's many employer led projects, has seen Ollie secure one of Bentley's much sought after apprenticeships.  

Principal of Crewe UTC, Will Chitty, told Nub News: "The outcomes the students have achieved reflect the hard work and dedication of both the young people and the teachers.

"In particular, we are pleased to see that all of our students have secured an ambitious destination." 

Sir William Stanier School - Coronation Street

The majority of Sir William Stanier School students successfully secured places in colleges, sixth forms, or apprenticeships (Sir William Stanier School).

Students at Sir William Stanier School are celebrating their efforts and achievements on GCSE results day.   

Results day 2025 signals a fresh start for Sir William Stanier School. With new leadership in place it is entering a phase of "renewed energy" and "high expectations," focused on driving improvement and ensuring every student is supported to succeed. 

The majority of students successfully secured places in colleges, sixth forms, or apprenticeships.

Staff noted strong performances in Art, Photography, Food, Media and French. Many students achieved personal bests and made sound progress from their individual starting points. 

Among this year's cohort was Alfie Hulse, who achieved an exceptional set of GCSE results.

He secured Grade 9s in Chemistry, English Language, Maths, Further Maths, and Physics, along with Grade 8s in Biology, French, and Music, and a Grade 7 in English Literature. 

Headteacher, Elizabeth Robinson, told Nub News: "We are incredibly proud of what our students have achieved.

"Today isn't just about exam grades, it marks the end of five years filled with learning, personal growth, and real determination.

"Many of our young people have overcome significant challenges and grown in confidence along the way.

"It is a pleasure to recognise their successes and see them take the next step in their journey.

"I would also like to extend sincere thanks to our staff and families, whose support throughout the year has been invaluable."

Ruskin Community High School - Ruskin Road

Ruskin Community High School has thanked all of its 'dedicated' staff and parents who supported students over the last five years (Supplied).

Ruskin Community High School is celebrating with its Year 11 students who collected their GCSE results today. 

The school says staff are all super proud of their pupils' hard work, commitment and resilience, which has shone through with their amazing results.

Ruskin thanked all of its "dedicated" staff and parents who have supported students over the last five years. 

Headteacher, Mr Dean Postlethwaite, told Nub News: "Yet again our students have worked incredibly hard to do the best that they can.

"We are proud of all of our students and their dedication to achieving good results. 

"Staff and parents have supported students throughout the examination period and it was fantastic to see so many happy students collecting results today.

"Best wishes to all of our students in the future and we look forward to hearing about further success in the future."

St Thomas More Catholic High School - Dane Bank Avenue

St Thomas More Catholic High School says it is 'delighted' with pupils' 2025's GCSE results (Supplied).

St Thomas More Catholic High School says it is "delighted" with pupils' 2025's GCSE results.

Headteacher, Katherine Packham, told Nub News: "St Thomas More are delighted with this year's exam results.

"We have celebrated with our pupils and their families this morning. Our pupils have shone throughout their time at St Thomas More and into their exam series.

"They truly deserve the results they achieved and can now use this to gain entry into their next steps in education and training.

"We had tears of joy and whoops of delight. I am proud of their hard work, dedication and commitment to their studies to achieve their goals.

"I am also thankful to the hard working staff body who have nurtured our pupils to be the best that they can be. 

"Our results celebrate our pupils whose attainments range from Grade 9 pupils, all through to celebrating with our Grade 1 pupils.

"The 1 to 9 grade range fits for all ability levels and every grade is a flavour and recognition to the child.

"However, grades don't define the wonders and gifts that our pupils have brought to us over their time at St Thomas More.

"We have no doubts that their gifts, talents, achievements and faith, will bring joy to their lives and the lives of those in our communities."
