Former Crewe town centre M&S building set to be auctioned off

Crewe town centre's former M&S building is finally set to be auctioned off, going under the hammer later this July.
39-47 Market Street will go up for online auction under Allsop from 11am on Thursday 17 July, for a guide price between £125,000 and £150,000.
The late 19th-century building has been empty since a pop-up Lambretta Outlet closed in early 2018.

M&S traded from the 27,417 sq ft building until August 2017, when it relocated to Grand Junction Retail Park.
The three-storey freehold property is located in a prominent position, fronting Market Square.
It is also on the west side of the pedestrianised Market Street and fronting Queenway, adjacent to the Royal Arcade site being redeveloped this year.
Allsop advises bidders this Crewe town centre property may lend itself to reconfiguration to provide smaller retail units or a variety of alternative uses and redevelopment, subject to obtaining all the necessary consents.
All enquiries should be made with Cheshire East Council.
Allsop say: "We now require all bidders who wish to bid at our Auctions to register beforehand.

"All checks required by current anti-money laundering legislation must be satisfactorily completed as part of this process before prior approval to bid will be given. Please use the links on our website to pre-register.
"Following approval to bid, the buyer named in your registration cannot be changed without consent (for which a charge might be made)."
Crewe town centre's former Burton/Dorothy Perkins unit was recently sold off at auction to a local businessman for an undisclosed fee, with plans to use all floors of the Market Street building.
