Firefighters tackle large house blaze for over three hours near Crewe
Fire crews tackled a large house blaze near Crewe for three and a half hours, believed to have been started accidentally.
On Sunday 3 December, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service received reports of an incident on Englesea Brook Lane, Weston.
At around 11:39am, four fire engines from Crewe, Nantwich and Holmes Chapel arrived at the scene, discovering a large blaze at a detached home.
Crews used two hose reel jets and an external firefighting jet to put out the flames.
No one was injured in the incident, with the Weston property sustaining damage.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Crews were called to a fire in an annex of a detached home in Weston.
"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets and an external firefighting jet to tackle the flames.
"Two roof ladders were set up to remove fire damaged materials to prevent further spread.
"A thermal imaging camera was in use to monitor the temperature around the annex and locate any hot spots.
"Crews were in attendance for three and a half hours."
