Firefighters douse Crewe van fire after arson attack

FIRE officers are investigating an arson attack on a van in South Street last night.

One fire engine from Crewe was called out to extinguish the small fire in the parked vehicle at around 11.20pm.

The fire crew, who were at the scene for around 40 minutes, used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate."
