Firefighters called to 'unattended' fire in the middle of Crewe woodland
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to an 'unattended' campfire - left burning in the middle of Crewe woodland.
The incident in woodland, off Smith Grove, was reported to firefighters at 7:59pm on Monday (August 1).
One fire engine from Crewe attended the scene and put out the fire.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "A campfire had been left burning and unattended in woodland, off Smith Grove.
"It was put out by firefighters using a water backpack and buckets."
The fire service issued a stern warning and safety reminder to those who left the campfire unattended, saying: "Please follow our outdoor safety advice to prevent more fires like this."
This incident happened in woodland close to Leighton Brook and Leighton Playground.
Yesterday (August 2), Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service rushed to help release a casualty trapped between two vehicles.
The incident in Tarporley, 13 miles from Crewe, were called to the incident on High Street at 12:30pm.
Fire engines from Winsford, Nantwich and Chester and the major rescue unit from Winsford attended the scene.
It took until 1:56pm for firefighters to release the casualty. They were then taken to hospital by the ambulance service.
