Fire crews called to 'accidental' house blaze in Crewe

Fire crews were called to a house blaze in Crewe this morning (August 29), confirmed to have been started accidentally.
At 7.45am, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to an incident on East Avenue, Weston.
Two fire engines from Crewe quickly arrived at the scene, discovering flames coming from a hob had already been extinguished.
The Crewe firefighters used a large fan to clear smoke from the property, making the oven safe.

No injuries were reported in the incident, with an investigation confirming the fire started from items being left on top of the hob.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called to reports of a building fire in Weston.
"On arrival they found a small fire involving a hob, which had already extinguished.
"Crews used a large fan to clear smoke from the property and then made the oven safe.
"An initial investigation found the fire had started accidentally after items had been left on top of the hob."
