A growing fast food chain has been given the green light to open in Crewe, one of several new eateries setting up shop in the town centre.

Applicant, Mr Vinayak Abbott, of Flame & Ice, had applied for a change of use from Class E to a hot food takeaway at 26 Market Street, formerly the PIP Consultation Centre.

Flame & Ice, which operates in the likes of Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Hyde, Kidderminster, and more, sells burgers, milkshakes, smoothies and desserts.

Set to open from 11am to 11pm, a new seating area, serving area, counter and kitchen will be constructed at the 1,152 sq.ft. Crewe town centre unit.

A new extraction flue and fan unit will also be erected, along with alterations to the shop front.

Satisfied with the proposals, a Cheshire East planning officer said: "It is noted the site does not reside within the 'hot food take away restriction zone' in Crewe.

"The proposed development is acceptable in this instance and comply with local planning policy and the National Planning Policy Framework."

I can honestly say with hand on heart ❤️. That
Shops that have opened up in the town centre in the last couple of years is the polish tailor alterations shop in Victoria Street.
This establishment did some alterations for me on a couple of occasions.
What a lovely welcome I received and nothing was to much trouble.
I have a pair of suit trousers taken out a bit.
The alterations carried out were second to none beautiful job.
If more shops catered for this type or something else like it, I'm sure it would be be welcomed.
This shop offers things you can't get online,
Personalised service, attention to detail and 100% customer satisfaction.
So please if you want to set up shop in Crewe look at something we haven't got.

I've said it before, the question is not how many get planning consent, or even how many open. It's how many are still open a year or so later. Those that aren't money laundering fronts (and there are some in Crewe) need customers to survive and novelty value has a use by date.

More wax drink beakers littering the streets. More future obese patients for the new hospital
Corporate death burgers!!

Don't knock charity shops, or as you say second hand shop.
There's many a bargain to be had and also giving to a good cause.
The town is now being saturated with food outlets the same as Barbers.
Don't people who set up a business do their homework before deciding whether it's going to be profitable.
If you look at the food outlets at present are any of them making a decent profit or just making a living.
There's only the likes of Gregg's, Ozzies and chatwins, to mention a few having a regular trade.

Thank god, Crewe sorely needs another fast food joint its been a junk food desert with only about 3000 in town. Thank you I look forward to the day that every shop is either a barbers or a fast food joint, probably next week!
