Family-run Crewe breakfast business closes after costs become 'too high to run'
A popular family-run Crewe breakfast business has closed its doors for good - after its costs became "too high to run."
Big Juice's Baps, Meredith Street, permanently closed down at 1pm on Monday 5 June - after four years of trading.
The sandwich shop slashed prices on all its food and drink items for the final day of business.
Big Juice's Baps blamed rising costs for its sudden closure - thanking customers for their regular orders since 2019.
On Saturday 3 June, the Crewe business confirmed its imminent closure with a social media statement.
The statement read: "Breaking news. Monday 5 June will be our ever last day of trading.
"Unfortunately costs are getting too high to run Big Juice's Baps any longer.
"We have been going four years but it's time to say goodbye to all our customers and to thank you all for ordering from Big Juice's Baps."
Big Juice's Baps sold a variety of breakfast items served on sandwiches, baps and subs.
It also sold burgers, oatcakes, toasties and omelettes- along with alcohol, fizzy drinks and a large number of snacks.
Big Juice's Baps received a rating of 4.9/5 stars on Facebook from 227 reviews and 4.7/5 stars on Google from 43 reviews.
The business received a food hygiene rating of five stars in May 2022.
Big Juice's Baps told Nub News it had nothing else to say on its closure - aside from its social media statement.
