A CAKE shop owner is appealing for help to secure the return of his business' trusty delivery bike.

Marek uriak was forced to close up early last night (Tuesday) at Royal Waffles on Hightown after the £1,100 electric bike was stolen by a gang of youths.

The vehicle has proved indispensable to the business during the pandemic.

Marek says the bike was stolen from the front of the shop by three youths who vanished down Adelaide Street.

Now he may have to cancel a pre-booked holiday trip with his family to London to continue the search for the bike.

He said: "We are getting back on our feet after Covid when we couldn't open normally. But we were doing deliveries and takeaways and that was what the bike was mainly used for.

"We are doing a job with all the love and preparing food for our customers with happiness. Why would someone do this?"

And the waffles shop owner added: "We have another car but this will impact on the business as it doesn't cost us anything to charge up the electric push bike.

"It meant a big saving on costs for us mainly in summer when we can use it and every penny counts after these tough times."

The theft took place at around 9pm on Tuesday, August 17 and if anyone has any information they can contact Marek via the business' Facebook page.

Or ring Cheshire Police on 101.
