Crewe town centre roads are set to close for five nights, allowing resurfacing works to take place.

Delamere Street and Market Street, from Gatefield Street to Chester Street Roundabout, and Chester Street, between the junctions of Market Street and Prince Albert Street, close at 7pm on Monday 17 February for resurfacing works.

The roads will remain closed between the hours of 7pm and 6am until Saturday 22 February.

Cheshire East Highways are responsible for the night-time works, with pedestrian access maintained at all times.

Cyclists will be required to dismount in order for access to be maintained.

Vehicular access will be maintained for emergency services and residents where possible.

The Delamere Street closure comes after it was closed for 12 days until February 7, allowing a new zebra crossing to be installed.

Cheshire East Highways removed the existing pelican crossing on Delamere Street due to several components being in extremely poor condition.

If you have any enquiries relating to the resurfacing works please contact Cheshire East Highways on 0300 123 5020 (Ryan Parker).

Due to the age and lack of spaces for the controller, and the concern over failing cables, the upgrade of the crossing was a priority.

If you have any enquiries relating to the resurfacing works please contact Cheshire East Highways on 0300 123 5020.
