This development was part of a month-long project to make highway improvements in the Crewe town centre area.

At the beginning of February, Cheshire East Highways expanded the footpath on Earle Street, outside Crewe Municipal Buildings, as well as extending a central island.

By the end of the month, resurfacing and lining works were also completed on Earle Street and Vernon Way.

These roadworks were part of the Safer Roads Funds, tackling the 50 highest risk road sections in England.

"Single lane closures are in place from 29 January until 24 February.
