Major Crewe town centre roads are set to close for three weeks, allowing for the installation of a one-way system and contraflow cycle lane.

Delamere Street and St Mary's Street will close on Monday 19 February, with the roads expected to reopen on Sunday 10 March.

These closures allow Cheshire East Highways to put a new one-way system in place, at the junction of Flag Lane to Gatefield Street, in an easterly direction.

Crewe's new multi-storey car park and bus station is targeted to be completed by April (Ryan Parker).

Funded through the government's UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the project is also an extension of The Crewe's Flag Lane Link project.

A new contraflow cycle lane will be installed, with resurfacing works also taking place on Delamere Street.

Diversion routes will be in place for this three-week period.

"It will also include resurfacing works and the installation of a contraflow cycle lane which will travel the opposite way to traffic.
