A Chinese takeaway and kebab shop in Crewe have been handed a three-star food hygiene rating, according to a recent Food Standard Agency (FSA) report.
The FSA Food Hygiene Rating Scheme is aimed at helping people choose where to eat out or shop for food.
This scheme is in partnership with local authorities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
It gives businesses a rating from zero to five, displayed at their premises and online.
A three-star hygiene rating means standards are 'generally satisfactory' for the business.
All information was taken from the Food Standard Agency website as of Monday 29 April:
- Shawarma Express, Edleston Road (Kebab Shop), Three-Star - (20 February, 2024).
- Ping's, West Street (Chinese), Three-Star - (29 February, 2024).
A food safety officer from Cheshire East Council inspected the takeaways to check they were following food hygiene law and ensuring the food sold was safe to eat.
At all inspections, the officer checked the following three elements:
Pings:
- Hygienic food handling - generally satisfactory
- Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building - good
- Management of food safety - generally satisfactory
Shawarma Express
- Hygienic food handling - good
- Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building - generally satisfactory
- Management of food safety - generally satisfactory
Ping's and Shawarma express were rated three-star based on these checks.
