Emergency services were deployed to a house in Crewe following a late night arson attack on a van, leaving serious damage.

On Sunday 28 April, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of an incident on Neville Street.

At 2:50am, two fire engines from Crewe arrived at the scene, finding a white van in flames on a driveway.

The white van was seriously damaged, with the vehicle also graffitied with threatening language (Nub News).

Crews used a hose reel jet to put out the blaze, which had caused damage to the property's windows.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called to reports of a vehicle on fire on a driveway in Crewe.

"On arrival, they found a van on fire. Breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet were used to extinguish the fire, which had caused some damage to the property.

"The fire is believed to have been started deliberately."

Crewe firefighters used a hose reel jet to put out the blaze, which had caused some damage to the property (Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service).

Due to the deliberate nature of the incident, Cheshire Police were called to the scene.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At around 3.10am on Sunday 28 April, police attended reports of a van fire on Neville Street.

"Officers attended and found that a flatbed truck had been badly damaged by the fire, which had also damaged the windows of a nearby residential address. 

"The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate, and an investigation is underway. 

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101, or visit our website, quoting IML 1810492."
