Crewe residents are being invited to have their say on the town centre's future at a free drop-in event hosted by regeneration specialist Capital & Centric.

The social impact developer will take over Platform on Market Street on Saturday 31 October from 12pm to 3pm for its 'Shape Your Town' event.

There will be no formal presentation or sales pitch, with the team instead hoping to hear what local people want to see in Crewe over a brew, beer, cake or pizza.

The event comes as Crewe pursues its ambition to become the best small town in Europe by 2050.

Capital & Centric wants to hear what that vision means to the people who live and work in the town, and what they believe is needed to make it a reality.

In September 2025, Cheshire East Council announced it was working with the developer on proposals for the undeveloped part of the Royal Arcade site, Chester Street Car Park and Delamere Street Car Park.

The company has delivered regeneration projects in locations including Gateshead and Plymouth, turning overlooked sites into new neighbourhoods.

It has also been working with students from Manchester School of Architecture to gather ideas on how Crewe could become a better place to live, work and spend time. Their proposals will be available to view at the event.

The afternoon will coincide with the CreweColours Street Art Festival, taking place outside Platform, giving visitors another reason to stop by and share their thoughts.

Co-founder of Capital & Centric, Tim Heatley, told Nub News: "Everyone expects a developer to turn up with all the answers. But honestly, the most useful thing anyone can tell us on the 31st is the truth about what they want or don't want.

"A good dose of honesty tells us more than a polite nod ever will. We are holding this event to find out what the people of Crewe truly think about our plans, with no filter.

"And if nothing else come down for a beer, a brew some cake or some pizza on us."

The free event will take place at Platform, 79-83 Market Street, between 12pm and 3pm on 31 October. Drinks will be provided by Capital & Centric.
