Crewe bank branch closes for two weeks as refurbishment begins
By Ryan Parker 28th Oct 2026
A Crewe town centre branch has temporarily closed to customers, as refurbishment work gets under way.
The Co-operative Bank, 3 Earle Street, closed on Monday 26 October to undergo a refresh, with the branch expected to reopen on Tuesday 10 November.
A notice displayed outside the branch confirms the temporary closure, telling customers the bank will be back and ready to welcome them on the reopening date.
The notice says: "Your local branch, made better."
This work forms part of a wider programme by The Co-operative Bank to refresh its branches during 2026.
It comes after the bank submitted plans to Cheshire East Council for new signage at its Crewe branch earlier this year.
As previously reported on Nub News, the proposals included a new navy blue fascia sign featuring LED lettering and a 55-inch digital display screen.

The application was submitted under advertisement consent rules, with a planning statement describing the proposed signage as modest and designed to complement its surroundings.
The bank's temporary closure notice advises customers to visit its Newcastle-under-Lyme branch at 45 High Street, while the Crewe premises are closed.
The branch is open from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to noon on Saturdays.
Customers can also deposit and withdraw cash at the Post Office in Unit 3, Victoria Centre.
The Post Office is open from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to 2pm on Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays.
Other ways to bank with The Co-operative Bank include online banking, its mobile banking app and telephone support.
Customers can call the bank on 03457 212 212 for assistance.
The Crewe branch previously operated between 9.30am and 2.30pm Monday to Friday, and from 9am to noon on Saturdays.
The bank's notice thanks customers for their patience during the work and says it looks forward to showing them its "new look" when the branch reopens.
