A Crewe resident who was running a 'professional cannabis farm' at a house in the town has been jailed for six months - following a crown court hearing

Marcin Lisiecki appeared at Chester Crown Court on Tuesday 4 April where he was sentenced to six months in prison.

The 37-year-old of Ruskin Road, had previously pleaded guilty to production of class B drugs (cannabis).

Cheshire Police officers discovered approximately 80 cannabis plants which had a likely yield of approximately £70,000 (Crewe Police).

The case began in December 2021 when officers from Crewe Local Policing Unit (LPU) received reports of suspicious activity at an address on Ruskin Road.

Following the intel, officers attended the address at around 4pm on Monday 12 December and knocked on the door to speak to the occupants.

After knocking for several minutes, Lisiecki eventually opened the door and officers were greeted by the strong smell of cannabis.

He allowed officers inside the address where officers discovered approximately 80 cannabis plants which had a likely yield of approximately £70,000.

Lisiecki was arrested at the address and later charged with production of class B drugs.

Sargeant Steve Tandy, of Crewe Beat Team, said: "I'd like to thank the residents for the information they provided.

"As a result of them we've removed a significant quantity of cannabis from the streets of Crewe and the person responsible is now behind bars.

"It is clear that Lisiecki had been running a professional cannabis farm from the property, there was a large number of plants the electricity had been dangerously bypassed.

"Not only are cannabis farms illegal but can also be dangerous to other residents given the way the electricity is bypassed, and the equipment used within.

Electricty had been 'dangerously bypassed' for the Ruskin Road cannabis farm (Crewe Police).

"While this site has now been closed down, and all of the equipment destroyed, we urge residents to remain vigilant and anyone ask who suspects this activity happening near them to come forward and tell us about it."

You can report suspected drug related activity to Cheshire Constabulary via its website, or by calling 101.
