Crewe primary school boosted by 'fun and challenging' new playground addition
A village primary school on the outskirts of Crewe has been boosted by a 'fun and challenging' new playground addition - following a donation from a housing developer.
Weston Village Primary School, East Avenue, received a new climbing wall for its playground after Taylor Wimpey donated £1,200.
The housebuilder partnered partnered with the Friends of Weston to fund the installation of the brand new climbing wall - providing a new activity for school pupils.
Weston Village Primary School is located less than a mile from Taylor Wimpey's new Millbrook Place development, off David Whitby Way.
Headteacher at Weston Village Primary School, Thomas Cutts, was delighted with the climbing wall addition.
He said: "We're very grateful to Taylor Wimpey for funding our fantastic climbing wall.
"It's a highlight of our outdoor area and children of all ages enjoy playing traversing games at playtimes, as well as during our before and after school club.
"These kinds of high-quality outdoor activities really enhance their experience at school and help motivate them to learn and develop further."
The new Weston playground climbing encourages active and physical play.
The £1,200 development also gets children to think safely and critically - building physical strength, motor skills, and coordination.
Sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey North West, Jennifer Burns, said: "We were delighted to be able to support Weston Village Primary School and recognise the important role that schools play in our local communities.
"We're committed to supporting our communities wherever we can and we hope that the climbing wall will provide a fun and challenging activity for the pupils of Weston Village Primary School for many years to come."
Crewe's new 305-home Millbrook Place development will include large areas of public open space.
A new children's play area will also be constructed - along with bird and bat boxes.
