Independent musicians from Crewe and beyond have come together to produce a charity Christmas album, in aid of a local homeless charity.

The artists - known collectively as 'The Electric Sprout Foundation' - have each performed an original family-friendly festive track for a 12-track album, titled 'Snow Business'.

The album has been organised by Mark Sheeky, from Crewe.

Crewe resident, Mark Sheeky, who organsied the Christmas album, helps to draw the front cover (Jonathan White).

It includes a track from himself and also a track from Maggie Shaw, author and musician of All Saints' Church, Stewart Street, Crewe.

The other artists involved are The Croutons, Fall in Green, Tim Lee, Nigel Stonier, John Lindley & The Poachers, Mick Dick, Mick Masser, Jonathan Tarplee, Widespoon, and Andrew Williams.

Mark Sheeky told Nub News: "I suddenly realised I am connected with lots of brilliant musicians.

"I had the crazy idea of assembling a team to write and record an album of all-new songs in eight weeks. The Christmas project snowballed from there."

All profits from the album will go to Looking After The Homeless (LATH).

LATH is a group of volunteers with a variety of backgrounds and skills, who devote their time to caring for homeless, needy and vulnerable people in Crewe and Nantwich.

The new Christmas album will be released online on Friday 8 December. It is available for preorder for £7, or more HERE.
