Crewe man charged following drunken 'abusive' episode in town centre

A Crewe man has been charged with being drunk and disorderly in a public place, after being "abusive" to pub staff, punters and police in the town centre.

On Saturday 11 November, Cheshire Police received reports of an incident at The Crown, Earle Street.

At around 9pm, offices arrived at the scene, finding a man being abusive towards pub staff and customers.

Darren Holdcroft, 29 from Crewe, has been charged with being drunk and disorderly in a public place (Cheshire Police).

The man continued his drunk behaviour out in the street, being abusive and making threats to police.

Darren Holdcroft, 29 from Crewe, was arrested at the scene.

He has since been charged with being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

Holdcroft is set to appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Thursday 30 November.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "At 9pm on Saturday 11 November, officers were dispatched to a disturbance at the Crown Hotel, Earle Street.

"A male was being abusive towards staff and punters, and continued this behaviour out on the street. 

Darren Holdcroft is set to appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Thursday 30 November (Nub News).

"The intoxicated male was then abusive to the attending response officers, making threats and causing a public nuisance. 

"Darren Holdrcroft, 29 from Crewe, has been charged with being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

"He will appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Thursday 30 November."
