Crewe gymnast Bryony Page is taking inspiration from Team GB icon Jonny Brownlee, after being selected for a third Olympic Games.

The reigning trampoline world champion won silver in Rio and bronze in Tokyo and is now hoping to complete the Olympic medal set at Paris 2024.

Triathlete Brownlee jokingly declared: "The Olympics? Completed it" after striking gold in Tokyo and 33-year-old Page is desperately wants to make the same claim later this summer.

"I think my capability is there to do it, I've been world champion twice and won a silver medal in this Olympic cycle but then again I have finished fourth at a World Cup with all the competitors that are going to Paris," said Page.

"The absolute dream is to be Olympic champion and complete the set like Jonny Brownlee.

"You have those people that are Olympic champion again and again, but having the whole set is kind of nice.

"I have so many inspirational athletes and people that I look up to and he's definitely one of them.

"We actually met after our medals in Tokyo and I'm the worst fangirl in those situations."

Crewe-born Page, 33, leads the trampolining team in Paris and is welcoming the prospect of helping debutants Izzy Songhurst, 25, and Zak Perzamanos, 21, navigate their first Olympic experience.

"I will answer the questions they have but I don't want to ruin the surprise and the joy," she said.

Of the six men and seven women selected in Team GB's artistic and trampoline squad, eight are Olympic debutants and five are returning Olympians (Team GB).

"I want to help them as much as I can in the same way that Kat (Driscoll) looked after me going into Rio.

"What makes this Olympics so special is that nobody was able to come last time.

"We weren't able to share Tokyo so well with our friends and families so to be selected for this is almost even more special than selection for my second games because I knew that people could come and watch.

"We sorted out the ticket situation earlier this week and I cried on the phone call because I'm so grateful to everyone who is making the trip."

Page is one of over 1,000 elite athletes on UK Sport's National Lottery-funded World Class Programme, allowing them to train full time, have access to the world's best coaches and benefit from pioneering medical support.

Of the six men and seven women selected in Team GB's artistic and trampoline squad, eight are Olympic debutants and five are returning Olympians, including triple gold medallist Max Whitlock.

Bryony Page is one of over 1,000 elite athletes on UK Sport's National Lottery-funded World Class Programme (Wiki Commons).

Team GB chef de mission, Mark England, said: "Team GB has proven itself as a serious medal contender in all three of gymnastics disciplines selected.

"It is fantastic to head to Paris with athletes who not only have Games experience, but experience of standing on that Olympic rostrum.

"I am sure all eight Olympic debutants in the team will lean on their experience this summer, and the team will once again make the nation proud."
