Community charity, St. Paul's Centre, has launched a "vibrant" new shop in Crewe town centre, selling a variety of high-quality items at affordable prices to reinvest funds back into the local community.

Supported by the ROHS grant scheme, St. Paul's Centre, Victoria Street (next door to Chatwins), soft launched on Tuesday 25 November, with an official launch on Saturday 6 December.

Primarily selling top-notch small furniture, electricals and bric-a-brac items, St. Paul's Centre's shop is an expansion of the charity's Hightown community centre - used for its bulkier stock.

Head of Operations and Retail at St. Paul's Centre, Steve Beaven, told Nub News: "When we first walked in, this was a cold and empty retail unit. Now we have added a lot of love and vibrant colours to the premises getting it back in use again.

"There is a lot of stigma surrounding charity shops so we wanted to turn this into a positive development for Crewe town centre. The shop has been well organised and is very open, perfect for all items to be browsed.

"The colours in our shop stand for 'Hope, Dignity, Confidence and Opportunity,' which make up some of our values. The colours we have taken forward from our heritage into this new outlet on the high street.

"We wanted to make our shop as bright, cheerful and welcoming as possible and we believe we have achieved that.

"There is so much competition with charity shops in Crewe, but this project is all about putting back into the Crewe community.

"Every pound spent in this shop is reinvested in our community and that is what is says on our digital screen in the shop window showing customers how our money is supporting the town.

"Who doesn't love a reused bargain which is also good for environment. Our items in here are well presented, super affordable and high-quality."

St. Paul's Centre praised: South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce, Micro MKT, Construction Linx, Above Line, Piranha AV, NetVu, Linea Technologies, NGL Technology, and DR&P Insurance for their help in getting the store open.

The Victoria Street shop is open Tuesday (9.30am to 4.30pm), Wednesday (1.30pm to 4.30pm), Thursday (9.30am to 4.30pm), Friday (9.30am to 4pm) and Saturday (9am to 5pm).

It's always nice to see closed shops open for whatever the purpose.
Some people don't appreciate what charities are doing to change the lives of other people who are struggling to make ends meet.
I love buying things from charity shops it gives me a sense of pride knowing I'm doing my best to help.
Over the years of shopping in these shops I have encountered many a good bargain.
From top class shoes to Ben Sherman shirts wrangler and Levi's.
Also bought a brand new peria cardini suit for a wedding to wear.
People couldn't believe what I buy.
Once bought a watch in Nantwich shop for a few pound no more than a fiver, popped in a new battery and resold it on a car boot sale for £45.00.
I've a full burgundy Jacket hanging in my wardrobe brand new,
£4.99 you can still buy it online for £260.00
So please Go in don't be ashamed and think I'm to proud to shop there then bigger fool you.
