Cheshire man charged following Crewe hit-and-run where dog was killed

A Cheshire man has appeared at Crewe court and is set to reappear this autumn after being charged in connection with an incident, involving the death of a dog.
On Saturday 15 April, Cheshire Police received reports a dog had been hit by a Mercedes Sprinter van at traffic lights on Nantwich Road, dying at the scene.
A Crewe dad, walking the French Bulldog, was narrowly missed by the white van, which failed to stop coming from the junction of Walthall Street.
Stuart Bostock, 58, of Whittle Hall, Warrington, has since been charged with failing to stop after a road traffic accident.
He has also been charged with driving without due care and attention, failing to comply with a red light and failing to report a road accident.
The Warrington man appeared before Crewe Magistrates' Court in relation to the charges on Thursday 3 August.
Mr Bostock is due to appear back before Crewe Magistrates' on Thursday 5 October to stand trial.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "At 3pm on Saturday, April 15, officers were called to reports of a collision near to Aldi, on Nantwich Road.
"The caller reported that a dog had been hit by a vehicle at the traffic lights and sadly died.
"Following an investigation by officers in Crewe, Stuart Bostock, aged 58 and of Harrogate Close, Whittle Hall, was summoned to appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Thursday, August 3.
"This was to face charges of failing to stop after a road traffic accident, driving without due care and attention, failing to comply with a red light and failing to report a road accident.
"He will next appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Thursday, October 5."
