The Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire joined the local MP at a community meeting - discussing the issue of anti-social behaviour on a Crewe estate

PCC, John Dwyer, and Cheshire Constabulary Chief Inspector, Fez Khan, joined Crewe and Nantwich MP, Dr Kieran Mullan at a Crewe community meeting - last week (August 12).

Also present at the surgery were representatives from Crewe's YMCA and Guinness Housing.

An incident on Middlewich Street was reported from Sherbourne Road last week (Crewe Nub News).

They came together to discuss the growing issue of anti-social behaviour on Sherbourne Estate, Crewe.

Local residents had the opportunity to voice their concerns on the anti-social behaviour that is occurring in the area - including incidents of criminal damage, drug use and threatening behaviour.

A main concern for the community is the continuation of the school summer holidays, which have a significant impact on the levels of anti-social behaviour occurring in the area.

A number of events, including karaoke sessions and cooking classes, have been hosted by local residents in hope that they would deter from the criminal activity.

Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire, John Dwyer (Cheshire Constabulary).

Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire, John Dwyer, said: "The anti-social behaviour that the residents have been experiencing is having a devastating impact on their day to day lives.

"The residents are very passionate about their community, and I am committed to working alongside Cheshire Constabulary, local MP Dr Kieran Mullan and organisations like the YMCA and Guinness Housing to support the residents.

"It has been a good opportunity to outline the resources that are available from within the Constabulary and my office in order to support the community.

"I have discussed the Force Control Centre's GoodSAM technology, which allows 999 callers to have live video contact with their call handler in the control room.

Last week, a Crewe man pleaded guilty to common assault of an emergency worker, one account of affray and one account of criminal damage to a property - at Warrington Magistrates' Court (Crewe Nub News).

"I have also shared the funding opportunities that are available through my office, which aim to improve communities across Cheshire, and I believe they could be of real benefit to this area."

Last week, an incident was reported on Sherbourne Road (August 7) - with reports of a man causing criminal damage.

On Tuesday (August 9), the Crewe man pleaded guilty to common assault of an emergency worker, one account of affray and one account of criminal damage to a property - under the value of £5,000.

MP for Crewe and Nantwich, Dr Kieran Mullan, said: "I was very glad to be able to help organise for the residents to have their concerns listened to by our PCC John Dwyer and Chief Inspector Khan.

Crewe and Nantwich MP, Dr Kieran Mullan (Crewe Nub News).

"People should not have to put up with the anti-social behaviour that residents on this estate are putting up with.

"The Commissioner and I have agreed that we will ensure Cheshire East, Guinness and Cheshire Police agree with a plan to help residents and we will do whatever we can to make sure it is delivered.

"The number one thing I need residents to do is keep reporting problems when they occur.

"I know it can seem like a waste of time but as the MP I need the reports to pressure everyone into acting. There are no quick fixes, but I will try my best."
