A "very lucky" missing cat has rejoined its Bristol household after being found at a Crewe supermarket 138 miles from home, as reported by CAFO Rescue.

Nutmeg, two, disappeared from home in the suburb of Coombe Dingle on Wednesday 27 September, after last being seen in her garden.

Two weeks later, a female pedigree cat was found wandering around the warehouse doors of Morrisons, Dunwoody Way.

Nutmeg reunited with owners, William Earp (left) and Martha Street (right), along with Morrisons store manager, Daisy (centre-left), and Morrisons staff (CAFO Rescue).

At first, staff thought the feline was just having a look around in hope to be given a meal and find their own way back home.

Nutmeg was given some food by staff. She then made no signs of wanting to leave.

The cat ended up spending five days living in the area by the delivery bay.

Staff became to become very concerned for Nutmeg's welfare and requested for CAFO Rescue to scan the animal for a chip.

After scanning Nutmeg's microchip, the animal rescue service realised Nutmeg was very far from home, getting in contact with her owners from the South West.

Nutmeg was found wandering around the warehouse doors of Morrisons, Dunwoody Way, two weeks after going missing from her home in Bristol (Ryan Parker).

The following day, owners, William Earp and Martha Street, made the long trip up North to collect Nutmeg from Morrisons store manager, Daisy.

She agreed to look after after Nutmeg overnight with husband Simon at their home.

Nutmeg was brought to Morrisons by her owners to say a heartfelt goodbye to all those who had looked after her in her time of need.

A CAFO website statement said: "Everyone involved with this case loves Nutmeg so much, there have been tears from Morrisons, CAFO and Nutmegs owners.

Nutmeg's owners, William Earp and Martha Street, were shocked to hear their cat had made it from Bristol to Crewe (CAFO Rescue).

"We all love you Nutmeg, you have been a very lucky girl to be returned home after such a perilous and uncertain two weeks.

"Stay safe little one, have the best life ever love from the people of Bristol and Crewe."
