Two men have been arrested on suspicion of kidnap, following an incident involving a girl in Crewe.

Around 2.30pm on Tuesday 25 February, Cheshire Police were called to Edleston Road, following reports of a girl leaving in an unknown vehicle.

Officers were deployed to the scene, making enquiries to locate the car and closed Edleston Road between the junctions of Camm Street and Union Street.

A suspect vehicle was quickly identified by Cheshire Police who alerted neighbouring forces.

Derbyshire Police officers stopped the vehicle in their area, with two males arrested on suspicion of kidnap. 

The girl is safe and well with officers at the scene. Enquires remain ongoing.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 2.30pm today (Tuesday 25 February), police were called to Edleston Road following reports of a girl leaving in an unknown vehicle.

"Police attended the scene and made enquiries to locate the car. 

"Officers swiftly identified a suspect vehicle and alerted neighbouring forces as patrols continued to make to its location.

"Derbyshire Police officers stopped the vehicle in their area and two males have been arrested on suspicion of kidnap. 

"The girl is safe and well with officers at the scene. Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances."
