A dog-loving Crewe estate agents branch manager is loving life working with 'down to earth people' - as the town's housing market continues to do 'really well.'

Megan Edwards has worked for Stephenson Browne, Nantwich Road, since May 2021 and loves her job.

"Crewe is a nice market to be in. You have good clientele and down to earth people," she said.

Stephenson Browne is a really nice company to work for - according to branch manager, Megan Edwards (Ryan Parker).

Mrs Edwards lives on the outskirts of Crewe - a short distance from the estate agents.

The branch manager has witnessed a resurgence in Crewe's housing market since the turn of 2023- with Stephenson Browne constantly busy with customers.

Mrs Edwards told Nub News: "The housing market is doing really well in Crewe currently. It did slow down in November and December when interest rates went up.

"Everything came to a bit of a standstill, it was pretty quiet.

"We were thinking whether this was the Christmas market and no one wanted to sell. We were cautious but the market came back in the new year.

"Business has been mental since the turn of 2023. I have been really busy and I can't complain.

"We are doing well. We are putting houses on and they're still selling.

"There are still buyers out there. You would have thought the market would have slowed down more considering how expensive everything is.

Mrs Edwards has been an estate agent for seven years - working at Stephenson Browne for almost two.

The branch manager previously worked for another local estate agents but was delighted when offered the chance to work at Stephenson Browne in Crewe.

Mrs Edwards said: "I am originally from Warrington but I lived in America as a young child and have since lived in Sandbach, Alsager and Crewe.

"I used to work in car sales and always wanted to work in a sales role. I then came across an opportunity to work at an estate agents and took it.

Stephenson Browne staff have witnessed a resurgence in Crewe's housing market since the turn of 2023 (Ryan Parker).

"Craig (sales director) from Stephenson Browne, reached out to me and the rest is history.

"It great working here. You're working on both ends of the scale in Crewe. You do get a really mixed bag.

"One minute you're listing a £750,000 house on Wychwood Park, the next you're listing a £70,000 to £80,000 house in central Crewe."

Mrs Edwards got married in April 2022 and moved into her first home the month prior - which she is currently renovating.

The branch manager and her husband have a dog called Gresty - named after Crewe Alexandra's stadium.

Gresty now comes in to Stephenson Browne's office on Fridays.

Mrs Edwards added: "We adopted Gresty in June 2018 - rescuing him from a home in Stoke. They thought he was a normal Labrador but he looks nothing like one.

"Gresty had some issues when we first got him. He was bit aggressive but we stuck with him, got him a dog trainer and since then he is very chilled.

"My husband is a Crewe Alexandra fan, hence the name Gresty - named after the stadium.

"Gresty is just really chilled. He loves sleeping. We take him out on the fields every morning and night.

"He will be coming into the office every Friday. People like stroking him and he just takes it. He is a lovely boy."

Mrs Edwards says working for Stephenson Browne is nothing like anything she has experienced before.

The caring dog owner loves how everyone within the company 'muck in' as a team.

Mrs Edwards added: "Working at Stephenson Browne is nothing like I have experienced before.

"You feel looked after and properly listened to. As professional as we are, this team are all great friends.

"We all muck in to get a job done. People aren't scared to cover for others and it's a great team effort.

Stephenson Browne's Crewe offices opened on Nantwich Road in 2018. It has separate adjacent premises for lettings and sales (Ryan Parker).

"It can be hard work to chase vendors, buyers, solicitors and surveyors but I love it. Stephenson Browne is a really nice company to work for."
