Bay changes have been announced for Crewe's temporary bus interchange - with Arriva set to end all Cheshire services.

Following Arriva's February announcement, D&G Bus, Stagecoach and First Potteries announced they would be stepping in to run additional services in Crewe from Monday 24 April.

D&G registered replacement services to cover the 31 Northwich to Winsford to Crewe and 37 Northwich to Winsford to Sandbach to Crewe (Ryan Parker).

Monday to Friday evening journeys between for the number 12 Leighton Hospital to Shavington have also been added - following financial support from Cheshire East Council.

D&G Crewe zone tickets will be renamed as 'Crewe and Nantwich zone' - no longer covering the Sandbach area.

Stagecoach announced it is stepping in to provide hourly buses on the 84 route from Crewe to Chester and Crewe to Nantwich.

In April, the major bus operator announced an updated timetable - with services running seven days per week.

The last bus will depart Crewe at 9:25pm, Monday to Saturday, and 6:30pm on Sundays and some bank holidays - with Sunday services funded by Cheshire East Council.

Stagecoach announced it is stepping in to provide hourly buses on the 84 route from Crewe to Nantwich to Chester (Nub News).

First Potteries announced it is also stepping in to provide a service every 30 minutes from Crewe Bus Station to Leighton Hospital.

The buses will run Monday to Saturday, covering: Charles Street, Victoria Street, Hightown, West Street, Underwood Lane, Cliffe Road, Bradfield Road, Smithy Lane and Leighton Hospital. 

From Sunday 23 April, to coincide with the announced bus changes, Crewe's temporary bus interchange will have the following bays changes:

  • Bay 1 - Service 8 Wistaston Green and 12 Shavington
  • Bay 2 - Service 3
  • Bay 3 - Service 6 and 12 Leighton Hospital
  • Bay 4 - Service 85
  • Bay 5 - Service 31, 39 and 42
  • Bay 6 - Service 84
  • Bay 7 - Service 8 Sydney & Elm Drive, 37 and 38
  • Bay 8 - Spare

From 23 April, all journeys on service 8 and will run ten minutes earlier.

The 7:51am 85 service from Marshfield to Crewe Railway Station will also run ten minutes earlier.

Bus fare caps which were due to end on 31 March have now been extended by a further three months to 30 June 2023.

First Potteries is also stepping in to provide a service every 30 minutes from Crewe Bus Station to Leighton Hospital (Ryan Parker).

Fares will continue to be capped at £2 per single journey.
