Potteries bus operator commits to service 'every 30 minutes' from town centre to hospital

A Potteries bus operator has committed to a service 'every 30 minutes' - covering a crucial Crewe bus route - running from the town centre to Leighton Hospital.

On Monday 27 March, First Potteries announced it was stepping in to provide a service every 30 minutes from Crewe Bus Station to Leighton Hospital

The change over will take place from Monday 24 April - with the buses running Monday to Saturday.

The route from Crewe Bus Station will cover Charles Street, Victoria Street, Hightown, West Street, Underwood Lane, Cliffe Road, Bradfield Road, Smithy Lane and Leighton Hospital (Ryan Parker).

First Potteries covers the number three service from Crewe Bus Station to Hanley (City Centre) - now expanding to cover Leighton Hospital.

A First Potteries statement read: "From Monday 24 April, we'll be operating service 6 between Crewe and Leighton Hospital. 

"Buses will run every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday serving Crewe Bus Station, Charles Street, Victoria Street, Hightown, West Street, Underwood Lane, Cliffe Road, Bradfield Road, Smithy Lane and Leighton Hospital. 

"The new timetable will be available to view soon."

First Potteries covers the number three service from Crewe Bus Station to Hanley (City Centre) - now expanding with the number six to cover Leighton Hospital (CEC).

The new First Potteries Crewe service will allow connections onto the number 3 (Crewe to Hanley), but will require a separate ticket.

This news comes after Arriva withdraws services from the Crewe and wider area on Saturday 22 April.

On March 1, D&G announced it would be stepping in to run additional services in Crewe and across Cheshire from Sunday 23 April.

Then on March 6, Stagecoach announced it was stepping in to provide hourly buses from Crewe to Chester (via Nantwich).

Stagecoach will be stepping in to provide hourly buses from Crewe to Chester (via Nantwich) - from Monday 24 April (Nub News).
