A Crewe motor dealership has made a £2,500 donation to a popular festive lights display that has been cancelled,
Graham Witter had to shelve his popular fundraising event at Weston this year because of planning difficulties related to Covid as well as complaints about last year's drive-thru show at Carters Green Farm.
Over the years the lights display have raised over £150,000 for the Donna Louise Hospice.
Now Swansway Group, regular supporters of the event, has donated the cash to help Graham's fundraising for the Stoke-on-Trent hospice where his sister, Jessica, received respite care.
The motor firm said they were sad to hear that operational issues meant Graham would not be "lighting up" the area with his spectacular light show.
Swansway Group Director David Smyth said: "I live locally and visiting the Weston Christmas Light Display with my family has been one of our Christmas highlights for years.
"While it is disappointing the display will not be going ahead, Graham's commitment to raising as much money as he can for the Donna Louise Hospice is to be admired. So we were very happy to make a contribution to this worthwhile cause."
