CREWE Alex have rounded off a busy afternoon in the transfer window by completing a deal for Oxford United attacker Dan Agyei.

The 24-year-old became the Railwaymen's third signing today (Friday) when he penned an 18-month contract with the Alex paying the Us an undisclosed fee for his services.

The deal followed a move for Tariq Uwakwe, 22, who has joined from Chelsea, also on a permanent 18-month deal, and young Arsenal defender Ryan Alebiosu, 20, who has agreed a loan move until the end of the season.

Yesterday, former Fortuna Sittard striker Bassala Sambou arrived at the Mornflake Stadium.

Agyei joined the Us in the summer of 2019 and after failing to force his way into Karl Robinson's starting XI on a regular basis he could offer Crewe some width up top, which they have lacked since the departures of Charlie Kirk and Owen Dale.

The younger recruits could help solve Crewe's defensive problems on the flanks.

Uwakwe has shown his versatility being deployed in midfield and at left-wing back during a loan stint at Accrington last season. While Alebiosu is a right-sided defender who has featured for the Gunners' under-23s.

With Kayne Ramsay's departure, frontman Mikael Mandron has had to be pressed into an unorthodox right-wing back role in recent weeks while the left side of defence has suffered since Rio Adebisi broke his foot at the end of December.
