New business set to open in former Crewe town centre chain store
Work has commenced on a new business opening in Crewe town centre - replacing a former chain store which relocated during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Magic Scissors barbers is set to open on Market Street - formerly occupied by GAME.
The business will be run by Mr Abbas Palani who has been working on the new shop for the past month.
There are currently three other barber shops in Crewe town centre.
Magic Scissors will join Figaro's Barbers, Delamare Street, The Brothers Turkish Barber, Victoria Street and Vincent's Barbers, Victoria Street.
The Market Street unit was operated by GAME until July 2020 - relocating into Sports Direct, Grand Junction Retail Park.
In 2019, Game Digital gave Mike Ashley's Sports Direct the green light for a £52 million takeover.
Two years prior, the retail group bought a 26 per cent stake in the company - increasing to 38.5% in June 2019.
Game felt the takeover offer was too good to refuse.
This week (October 11), Truly Scrumtious sweet shop opened its doors on Victoria Street.
The town centre business also has a slush bar boasting 12 rare favours.
This includes: Cream Soda, Pina Colada, Cherry Cola, Skittles, Tropical and Dandelion & Burdock.
Crewe Nub News will be speaking to Magic Scissors owner, Mr Palani, next week - discussing the opening of his new barbers.
