Work begins on new shop at old Crewe town centre Post Office site
Work has started on a new shop opening in Crewe town centre, located at an old Post Office site.
A new hair salon will be opening at the former Crewe Town Post Office, 17 Delamere Street, which was split into two units several years ago.
The corner unit has been vacant since March 2014, when Crewe Town Post Office relocated into WHSmith, Victoria Centre.
A builder has been employed to carry out work on the new salon, run by "local people," planning to open this spring.
17 Delamere Street had been to let under JNI Properties at £22,500 per annum, with the unit being under offer for over six months.
Sized at 1,429 square foot, let was finally agreed at the end of January.
The new salon, located opposite Crewe's new multi-storey car park, will fill the last empty unit on Delamere Street.
Currently, there are eight businesses trading from the town centre street.
These are NatWest, Figaro's Barbers, New Look, Betfred, X-Academy of Performing Arts, Santander, Savers and Change Grow Live, drug and alcohol service.
