Winsford woman arrested following theft from shop in Crewe
A Cheshire woman has been arrested on suspicion of theft from a shop in Crewe, after being pulled over in Cheshire West.
Earlier this week, Cheshire Police received reports of a woman stealing items from Co-op Food, Remer Street.
On Wednesday 17 April, officers from Northwich sighted a vehicle in Winsford, involved in the theft.
The female driver, 54, from Winsford, was arrested at the scene.
She is currently in police custody, assisting officers with enquiries.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "On Wednesday 17 April, around 5.55pm, Northwich Response Team sighted a vehicle in Winsford that had been involved in a theft from a shop in East Crewe this week.
"The female driver, aged 54, from Winsford, was arrested on suspicion of theft from shop.
"The female is currently in custody, assisting officers with their enquiries.
"We are urging local residents to report any suspicious activity to Cheshire Police online, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
