Road in Crewe closes for five-day carriageway improvement works

A road in the West End of Crewe has closed for carriageway improvement works, taking place every day across this week.

Bright Street, between West Street and Samuel Street, closed at 9.30am on Monday 9 September, with works expected to be completed on Friday 13 September.

The road closure will run between 9.30pm and 2.30pm each day, allowing Cheshire East Highways to carry out slurry seal works.

Pedestrian access to any premises situated within the temporary closure will be maintained at all times.

Cyclists will be required to dismount in order for access to be maintained.

Vehicular access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and residents where possible.

The official diversion route is via West Street, Richard Street and Samuel Street.

A Cheshire East Highways spokesperson said: "Bright Street, Between West Street and Samuel Street, Crewe.

"A road closure will be in place here from 9 September to 13 September between the hours of 9.30am and 2.30pm.

"This is to facilitate carriageway improvements. Plan your journey ahead."
