A man residing in Crewe has been arrested on suspicion of extradition offences, with him facing deportation to Poland.

On Friday 6 September, Cheshire Police arrested a man, 53, originally from Poland, on an extradition warrant in Crewe.

The man was wanted after failing to attend an extradition appointment in Westminster.

He has since been detained and will be transported to London, to arrange being handed over back to Poland.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "On Friday 6 September, a male from Crewe was arrested on an extradition warrant, with him set to be extradited to Poland.

"The male, 53, originally from Poland, was arrested by response officers on Friday morning in Crewe after being wanted for failing to attend an extradition appointment in Westminster.

"He has been detained and will be transported to Westminster to arrange his extradition back to Poland."
