Van destroyed in 3am Crewe arson attack

A van was torched in a late night arson attack in Crewe sustaining serious damage, with Cheshire Police investigating,

On Saturday 17 May, Cheshire Fire and Rescue were alerted to an incident on Adlington Road, Wistaston Green.

At 3.17am, one fire engine from Crewe arrived at the scene, discovering a white van well-alight.

Crewe firefighters put out the van blaze using a hose reel, who reported the incident to Cheshire Police.

A Facebook appeal has been created by the van owner's son to help find out who was responsible with a £5k reward (Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service).

No one was injured in the incident with no arrests so far made.

They say £5,000 cash will be given to someone who provides the information on this.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "A vehicle on fire on a drive was attended by firefighters who extinguished it with a hose reel."
