Female driver rushed to hospital after crashing into parked car in Crewe

A woman has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a crash in Crewe this morning, with road closures in place.

On Monday 19 May, emergency services were alerted to an incident on West Street.

Around 6.20am, Cheshire Police and North West Ambulance Service arrived at the scene, discovering a blue Fiat 500 had crashed into a parked grey Vauxhall Astra.

The driver of the Fiat, a female, was treated at the scene and then taken to hospital.

The driver of the Fiat, a woman, has sustained serious injuries and has been taken to hospital for treatment (Cheshire Police).

A road closure remained in place on West Street, between the junctions of Victoria Avenue and Minshull New Road until around 11am.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "Around 6.20am on Monday 19 May, police were called to reports of a collision involving a blue Fiat 500 and a parked grey Vauxhall Astra on West Street, Crewe

"The driver of the Fiat, a woman, has sustained serious injuries and has been taken to hospital for treatment.

"Road closures have been put in place on West Street while emergency services work at the scene."
