STORM Christoph's battering left Crewe feeling a touch icy today.
Last night's heavy snowfall quickly froze, which meant for tricky driving conditions for those venturing out in the lockdown.
Crewe Nub News readers sent in some great snowy pictures, which you can view in our picture gallery.
But while the snow came and went swiftly, flooding from the the torrential rain which preceded it has hit Cheshire hard, with the Northwich area particularly affected.
In Crewe there was flooding at a property in Herbert Street last night where a fire crew needed to pump water out into a nearby field.
Large areas of land have been submerged where Wistaston Brook has broke its banks. While Valley Brook's rising water levels have left Valley Park's play area and sport court almost hidden under several feet.
Among South Cheshire roads affected by flooding, Newcastle Road in Willaston was closed last night, Over Road at Church Minshull was shut this morning, while the A51 Chester Road at Alpraham was closed until lunchtime.
Comparatively the Crewe area has got off lightly, with some of the worst flooding in the county seen in Northwich. This afternoon around 50 elderly residents at the Weaver Court retirement complex were taken to safety by dinghy across the flood waters which have been rippling across the mid Cheshire town centre.
Yesterday 31 narrowboat dwellers were evacuated from Hayhurst Marina in Northwich and the rising levels of water in the River Weaver have seen four caravans evacuated at Lakeside Caravan Park on Winsford.
In all over 150 people have been evacuated from their homes in the county during a period in which Cheshire Police had declared a major incident response.
The Met Office has issued another yellow weather warning, this time for ice causing difficult travel conditions, and that applies both today and tomorrow (Friday) when temperatures are forecast to plummet to below freezing.
Motorists are being urged to take extra care and if they are making an essential journey they are being advised to allow extra time.
Superintendent Julie Westgate from Cheshire Constabulary said: "We worked closely with our partners throughout the night dealing with a large number of flooding related issues across the county.
"While the heavy rain has now receded, snow and ice have moved in and a number of roads remain closed. There is also the risk of surface water flooding and weather-related debris in places."
A number of flood warnings remain in place and you can find the latest information on the Environment Agency's Flood Line on 0345 988 1188.
