Three more arrested for arson following huge Crewe printworks blaze
Three more people have been arrested on suspicion of arson, following a huge 48-hour blaze at the former Crewe printworks.
A 19-year-old man from Sandbach, 18-year-old man from Crewe and a 19-year-old man from no fixed address, were arrested on Sunday 11 August.
The trio were arrested suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and remain in custody helping police with their enquiries.
The 12-year-old boy, arrested on Saturday 10 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Emergency services worked at the scene of the old Communisis printworks, Frances Street/Catherine Street, from 4:15pm on Friday 9 August to 5:15pm on Sunday 11 August,
Hundreds of residents had a long wait to return to their homes and were supported by Cheshire East Council.
A number of road closures remained in place while work continued at the scene.
Crewe Lifestyle Centre was used as a rest centre for affected residents on the night of Friday 9 August, with Crewe Alexandra FC also offering support.
Residents of Frances Street and Catherine Street returned to their homes on the evening of Sunday 11 August.
There are no reports of any injuries from the incident.
